hi gabrielle, found your comics through boingboing.net and i really enjoy your storytelling style. it’s really relatable and i feel like if i ever meet you in person one day i will be one of those people that thinks they already know all about you because they read your blog and your comics..
anyway, if you’re ever in shanghai, i hope to meet you.
Thanks for writing these; the Jeffrey Brown scene is really well done (it’s also interesting to see him drawn by someone other than himself. I’m so used to his stylized drawing of himself that whenever I see a picture of him or someone else draw him I wonder why he doesn’t have a giant head and tiny neck).
that was pretty darn hillarious!! x’D your expressiions are great =) i want to know how a superfan snuck into this party thing;; thanks for putting this up, now i will think twice before saying ‘i realy wish i could go to san diego’ hahaha!
This seems to be a very consistent theme in lots of comics I read- person observing the world thru puke colored glasses. It’s weird, because you include the parts where the staff at Comicon tell the lady at the other table to chill out and let you keep sitting there. You include the part where they fly you out there and give you more money that you know what to do with to eat at Nobu. The end result for me is that the staff at Comicon come off looking thoughtful and accommodating, and you just seem really negative or like you feel entitled to their special treatment.
I very much enjoyed this, the subtle insightful observations, the self-depreciating humor, the sorta wink-wink-nod moments. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, Brian, I think you’re totally projecting. All this supposed “negativity” and “entitlement” is not there in the strips we’re reading, but are just things that you’ve pulled out of your ass.
I’m a long time fan, and was stoked that you were signing this year. I ended up buying Jillian’s comics while I was waiting for you to sign my book. I loved it, and wouldn’t have found out about her if you hadn’t taken your time signing my book. I really enjoyed your thoughtful drawing in my book, so it was worth the wait. Everyone wins!

Who is this guy who runs into you and Jeffrey Brown ? Are we supposed to recognize him ? Or is he just a guy ?
just a guy!

Who’s publishing “The Big Feminist Butt”? (Great title!)
I don’t know who’s publishing it, but Shannon O’ Leary and Joan Reilly are editing it.

Oh, piss off Brian.
then why are you reading comics you obviously don’t like?
BECAUSE SOME OF US HAPPEN TO LOVE THEM.

i agree with your sentiment about Brian
Thank you so much to all of you who left your kind and encouraging comments.
