Bye for now!
Please feel free to add more polar bear resources in the comments section. Except please no images of polar bears mauling people. Unless it is somehow adorable.
OMG Gabrielle…you are HILARIOUS!! I love you!!!
Love it.
You asked for polar bear resources, so here are links to a lot of articles I have written about them over the last few years: http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/extinction-countdown/tag/polar-bears/ & http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/wilderness-resources/stories/what-do-polar-bears-eat-and-how-is-their-food-threatened
Thank you for the actual real information on polar bears. I didn’t even know that hunting them was still a thing!
I love it!
great! reminded me of http://everything2.com/user/dpride/writeups/The+Bear+FAQ
Awesome shots of you and the bear!
Just to be clear: there are no Polar Bears in Antarctica. Penguins, yes. But not Polar Bears. Apart from that, everything in your post is 110% true.
The polar bears in pictured with Gabrielle are part of a small group that summers in Antarctica. They are Bi-Polars.
Yes, polar bears and penguins do not cohabit. Polar bears in the north, penguins in the south. Why this is, we do not know; it might in fact make more sense for them to switch. If polar bears lived at the South Pole, then they wouldn’t have to worry about sea ice melting, because there is land under the ice. And if penguins lived at the North Pole, they wouldn’t have to worry about sea ice melting because they can swim. At least I’m pretty sure they can. I never got around to seeing Happy Feet.
I love it.
I love your informative presentation, Gabrielle!
This was my take on polar bears….

beautiful
Thank you everyone for the polar bear resources!
What! No polar bears in Antarctica!?! There should be a world-wide polar bear redistribution program. I want to see more of them in New York, for example.
Been reading your comics for years and this is one of my absolute favorites: hilarious and beautiful.
Something tells me the penguins wouldn’t be so keen on the polar bear redistribution program. On the other hand, it might be an incentive for them to finally learn to fly.
Apparently polar bears are left handed …but no one knows why….and there are rumors of brown bear and polar bear love cubs ….a possible survival adaptation…penguins on the other hand are losing their breeding grounds to the melting ice shelf in their antipodian clime…to sum up…we don’t know enough to be fucking up the whole world as we seem to be doing…and we don’t act like we know better…but we do….next…what about the elephants …..
I don’t think the elephants would like it at the North Pole OR the South Pole.
Love the snuggle panel!
A diary excerpt relating to real polar bear annecdotes ( http://alisonmccreesh.com/blog/have-you-read-this-weeks-comic-strip-click-here/ – fourth post down). Indeed, more and more polar bears are wandering closer and closer to communities.
polar bears!
