Still No New Comics But
I have two long-term announcements about two long-distance events. The first is that I am teaching a workshop at SAW in Gainesville, Florida this March. I am very excited as I’ve always wanted to go to Florida. I am hoping to see an alligator. It will be a class about drawing autobiographical comics and diary comics. Or rather about turning your life into a diary and then into autobiography. Perhaps we’ll do comics about seeing alligators.
The second is all the way in May and in far off Toronto, Canada, but I am so excited to be invited as special guest at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, to debut my new collection, whose name I recently changed to Truth is Fragmentary: Travelogues & Diaries. I’m especially excited because the other guests are all artists who I admire a great deal, and because one of them is Lynn Johnston! I grew up on For Better or For Worse.
That is all for now. Siberia will return in 2014. I wish you all the happiest of holidays in the most non-consumer manner possible.
It is incredibly easy to find alligators around here. Just a 15 minute bike ride from SAW should do it.
